Founded by Vy and Steve Chao, the restaurant focuses on paella and tapas, aiming to replicate the casual, convivial dining culture of Spain. Guests can enjoy classic Valencia mixta paella or a vegan version featuring kombu shiitake dashi, lima beans, and sweet peppers. Vya operates Wednesday through Saturday from 4:30 to 11 p.m.
Sun Rice
Sun Rice, a new Filipino restaurant, has opened its first standalone location on North Williams Avenue. Founded by Ken Tran and TJ Cruz, the restaurant blends Filipino cuisine with hip-hop culture. The menu features popular silog bowls with garlic rice, egg, and a choice of protein like branzino or barbecue pork, alongside appetizers such as lamb kaldereta croquettes and scallop ceviche. Sun Rice operates Thursday to Saturday from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. and 5 p.m.–9 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m.–2 p.m.
